Carving a Wooden Spoon with a crank
A half day spoon carving workshop for adult beginners and improvers.
Service Description
This is your chance to have a go at carving a wooden spoon with a crank (or bend) from a template or "blank" which will be provided. This is a step up from carving a flat wooden spoon and will be a great opportunity to improve your spoon carving. However, it is still suitable for beginner carvers especially if you already have some experience of using a knife to carve wood, though you will not need to use the axe, which is the usual method for carving a spoon blank. You will be reminded of a variety of knife cuts to safely and effectively carve your spoon, including the use of a hook knife to hollow out the spoon's bowl. Refreshments will be provided. By the end of the session you will have carved your own spoon to take away with you. This will be in a small group of up to 6 people and is becoming booked up fast, so hurry to book on.
