Carving a Spoon Using Basic Knife Skills

Service Description

This is your chance to have a go at carving a wooden spoon from a template or "blank" which will be provided. You will not need to use the axe, which is the usual method for carving a spoon blank. You will be taught a variety of knife cuts to safely and effectively carve your spoon, including the use of a hook knife to hollow out the spoon's bowl. Refreshments will be provided and you will have the option of staying for a lunch of bread and delicious home made soup. By the end of the session you will have carved your own spoon to take away with you. Some previous experience of using a knife for carving wood is useful though not essential.
